Noshan Bhattarai

PhD program of study in Environmental Engineering
Noshan Bhattarai attended Tsinghua University as a graduate student in the School of Environment and pursued a PhD program of study in Environmental Engineering. He was researching on “Sources and transformation of atmospheric ammonia and particulate ammonium using stable nitrogen isotopes” during his PhD. After earning his PhD, he is researching on “Multi-isotopic study to identify pollution sources of precursor gases to NH4+ and NO3 in fine particulate matter” during his postdoc. His research work needs mainly field experiments to collect data and laboratory experiments for analytical measurements to do modeling to identify the pollution sources

Research Area

Understanding the sources and formation of particulate matter in urban environment

Understanding the mechanism of precursor gas to particle conversion and their contribution to fine particles is the key to design effective air pollution control policies. Thus, his research interest lies in understanding the sources and formation of particulate matter in urban environment with the help of experimental/field/theoretical studies based on stable isotopes.
